Because the NAIP imagery was flown during the summer, county contours and older imagery was used to verify questionable features. Water bodies that showed up in the imagery but not in the wtr_bodies feature class were added by digitizing their boundaries. Some features in wtr_bodies no longer show up in the NAIP imagery and were deleted. To update the feature class. Matt Lamborn and Greg Carl County of Napa CDPD GIS Consultant and Fall 2011 Intern (respectively) Revised a few water body polygons based on edits that took place as part of the 2011-2012 update of the ICE vegetation layer. During the manual update of the ICE veg layer, a few wtr_bodies polygons were found to be incorrect or out-of-date. First, they were corrected in the ICE veg layer, then the changes were brought over to the wtr_bodies layer to keep the two layers consistent. 2012-01-23T00:00:00 Matt Lamborn GIS Consultant Used 1-mile x 1-mile countywide grid to inspect the wtr_bodies feature class for missing and out-dated features, based on 2018 Napa County Imagery. All features copied to a new layer for editing and tracking purposes. Boundaries were redrawn or reshaped to mroe accurately display the feature. Added new features and removed existing features to align with surface conditions. Classified each feature based on a list of common features including: Lakes Ponds Agricultrue ponds Bays Intermittent Tidal Marshes Lagoons Waste Water Ponds Ephemeral ponds. 1. Editing and updating polygon features: a. Using primarily the 2018 and 2016 imagery sources (Napa Co Ortho and NAIP respectively). All other available imagery sets were used to delineate subtle boundary changes and wet/dry years and seasonal differneces. b. Digitize new features and delete old features that are clearly not existing or have been expanded. c. Added new tidal channels in the southern part of the county. d. Classify each feature into common categories e. Used BAARI data from SFEI for use as external refernece f.
